What we did today!

Today we come home. First at the hotel we finished packing, ate breakfast and loaded up the car. We then went to Sonic (which was cool) and got some dessert drinks. My dad tried to go into the Employee Entrance of the building (that was funny). Then we went to a coffee shop and got some coffee and mugs for the ride home. Once home (at like 1:45 p.m.) we unloaded the car, got some chineese food for dinner and watched a movie. Now me and my mom are chilling and watching T.V.

Patterson

Today we went to Patterson. It was a beautiful day to tour the complex. Our tour guides name was Sheryl, she worked in the grounds matinence department. She was very nice. She has been in Bethel for a year and a half now with her husband. I loved seeing the laundry department (that is where I want to work when I go to Bethel).  I want to iron clothes there. If I don't make it to the laundry department I would also love to work in the food service department.
Here Are Some Interesting Facts That I Learned:

Us At The Bronx Zoo

We left the hotel this morning and headed for the train station. We arrived at the train station, bought tickets, and boarded. After transfering to a couple different trains, we arrived at our stop. When we got off the train we were right across the street fromt The New York Botanical Gardens. To get to the Bronx Zoo we had to walk the length of the gardens and the lenght of a University (which both were extremely long). Once at the zoo (which was about 11) we grabbed some Minimelts (which is icecream dots), and headed to an exhibit. After walking around for a bit we hitched a ride on the shuttle and got dropped off at The Dancing Crane Cafe where we had lunch. We visited a few more exhibits before heading out. Our feet were sore and our bodies were tired by the time reached the train station. We got on our train and headed home. Interesting Story: We went to transfer trains and both the doors opened on both sides of the train. My father and I headed out with the crowd of people, while my mother got off at the other side. She urged us to quick come over to her side to catch the next train. As the train (we just exited) moved off we saw that everyone that was on the train was standing on the other side of the tracks. Then we saw the sign "no boarding on this side of the platform/tracks" and we then realized we had to quick find a way to reach the other side of the track swithout missing our train which came in the next 5 minutes. My dad found stairs that lead to a walk way. We raced up the stairs and flew over to the other side just in time to quick board our train. It was not a very fun way to catch a train! Who We Saw On The Train: There was a man in a bikini and was wearing fish net over his bikini, he also had on 5 inch heels, thick black makeup and a bleach blond wig. GROSS!!!! I have no brain teasers for today!

Wallkill

Today we toured Wallkill Bethel. It was amazing! A brother named Jonathan did our tour. We went through printery one and two and it was great to be able to see them. They are huge!!! He also showed us the book binding and putting together process. Not only did we see that, but we also saw how they pack and ship the publications and we saw the new packing process that they are using. Jonathan explained how the brothers are becoming more and more resourceful and more frugal whenever possible. It was wonderful to see how Jehovah’s spirit operates through the organization. We had lunch with Jodie Martin. We ate fish, potatoes, carrots, corn, salad, and for dessert we had delicious blueberry cobler.

Some Interesting Facts:

-50,000 Bible Teach books are produced each month since the new arrangement of having a special day per month just for making Bible studies.

-One copy of each of the publications is specially made and sent to the Library of Congress.

-All the CDs/DVDs are produced at an outside company.

- The presses (when running at top speed are) produce 94,000 magazines per hour. The new brochures that were printed at Wallkill were produced at 80,000 brochures per hour. They had to slow the presses because the paper is much thicker than magazine paper and they needed more time to let the ink settle.

-The publication orders are sent to the congregations starting from west coast to the east coast of the country the reason that is done is so that the congregations recieve there literature at approxamitely the same time.

-Beef, corn, grapes, blueberries, and apples are grown directly at the farm.

- It takes 14 seconds to make a congregation order of 350 magazines. On March 1, 1973 the 1st issue of the Watchtower was printed in Wallkill. A magazine paper role is 14 miles long, weighs 3,800 lbs. and lasts 25 minutes in the press. The laminator produces 60 sheets per minute or 28,000 pocket size book covers per hour. The ink barrels that are used to pump ink to the presses contain 300 gallons of ink and last about a week.

Here are just some fun trivia questions of facts that I found interesting. I will post the answer tomorrow morning.

Today

When we got to the hotel we unpacked, then we explored the town. We went to Panera Bread for dinner. Then we came back to the hotel and went swimming in the hotel pool. My dad and I played The Silent Game which was hilarious because I couldn't keep silent. Tomorrow we go to Wallkill and I hope we get to go swimming again.
This is me (obviously) at the hotel after we went swimming.

Today Starts Vacation

We leave at  12:00 if not before. Right now I am doing the last minute packing with all the stuff that I couldn't pack before today, then I will clean and shut down the house. Next my dad will come home from work and we will pack up and leave. Before we head to the hotel we will make my orthodontist appointment (I have a bracket off and my wires are sticking out, cutting my cheecks) and pick up my mom from work. Fun stuff! Then we will be on our way. I am not really that excited now because I am thinking about all the stuff I have to do, but as soon as that is over I will be real excited.

2 Days Left

I have finally started packing. Today when we got home from the meeting the power was out and we have to do laundry. The power just came back on so now we can do our chores (which I am not too happy about because 5 seconds ago we were going to play a game, guess not). So now we are making pasta and doing dishes and laundry.

3 Days Left

Yesterday I was a little late posting and sorry about that and I am late today too. I just wanted to say that the time that the computer says I am posting at is wrong. I don't get up at some ungodly hour in the morning and write this. So anyways 3 days left and it doesn't feel like we only have 3 days till we go. I am either in denial or shock, I haven't even started packing yet, and my mom JUST started flipping out.

I was getting ready for the meeting this morning and realized I have to do the blog. So came down (my shirt was down here too) and sat down and started writing this hoping that my mother wouldn't see how long I have been gone. But the excitement level is still high. P.S. we are going to the North Troy meeting this morning with the Jacksons.

We have broken the 2 week checkpoint. I can't wait until we break the 1 week checkpoint. If I could rate my excitedness from a scale from 1-10 it would be 11. That would be an example of how excited I am. (the bunny and the carrot)
