Botanical Gardens

Today we went to the Botanical Gardens and it was beautiful. We to a tram ride through the whole place first and then walked through the rose garden, the rock garden, and the wetland area. We also went into the Mertz's library.
Here are some interesting facts:
-The Botanical Gardens is 250 acres.
-The Bronz River is the only fresh water river in the city.
-The Botanical Gardens has the last uncut forest left in the metropolitean area.
-The Gardens contain more than one million plants andwas created in 1890.
-The Botanical Gardens is the oldest and largest botanical garden in the world.
-The Mertz's library is the largest library containing the most important resources for plant research.

  2. No coniferous trees loose their needles except for a couple of exceptions the Ginko and the Larch which do drop their leaves in Autumn.

  3. Douglas fir doesn't lose their needles. We have them in the back field and they don't lose the needles. I want to say it is the cedar.
